Team “Mo’ Learning, Mo’ Sporting” took part in Movember to help raise funds to support the fight against prostate cancer and male depression, and to help raise awareness regarding these issues.
Four Learning Seat staff formed a team with six staff from workplace neighbours SportingPulse, and together raised $3,375.
Learning Seat business manager Tom Carlton raised $1,125 on his own! Other Learning Seat staff who sacrificed their faces to help the fight against prostate cancer were multimedia designers Mark Murray and Martin Bonne and financial analyst Chris Milne.
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) the horrendous moustaches have now come off … but sponsorships can still be made to our team by following this link: http://au.movember.com/mospace/747926/
Here are some shots of the Learning Seat members with their ravishing mo’s!
The Foxtel Lap
Last month, the Learning Seat team in Melbourne donned their sneakers and sweat shirts to participate in Australia’s biggest corporate treadmill challenge – The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s Foxtel Lap.
The Institute is also a valued Learning Seat client.
The day was a great success with Learning Seat contributing a huge 906.1 laps to the overall 39,038 laps ran overall on the day for corporates all around Melbourne.
Altogether, the Learning Seat team raised $1782.33 for the Institute.
Thanks to everyone who donated toward the great cause!
A special mention must go out to our general manager Tim Legge, who took on the “Chief’s Challenge” at the end of the day and ran a commendable 38.4 laps with the entire Learning Seat cheering him on!
Australian Corporate Games
The Corporate Games collectively form Australia’s largest annual multi sports championship. The Games is set up to encourage companies to support employees’ pursuit of a more active, healthier lifestyle and each year over 20,000 Australians compete in Corporate Games nationally, with 10,000 in Melbourne alone.
Last month, 16 Learning Seat employees decided to showcase some of their skills at the Games in sports ranging from netball to table tennis to poker and even, go-karting.
It was a fantastic day with the netball team winning both their pool games and designer Ben Webber progressing through the second round of the table tennis tournament against some extremely stiff competition!
