As part of Learning Seat’s attendance at the Work 2.0 Expo and Conference in Sydney, October 24-25, we are proud to have Rae and Damian Panlock speak about the effects of workplace bullying – and what organisations can do to prevent this.
Workplace bullying is defined as “unreasonable behaviour directed towards a group of workers, that creates a risk to health and safety.” It can cause significant risks to all parties involved, not just the bully and the victim. Under the Work Health and Safety Act of 2011, workers must take reasonable action to prevent and/or intervene workplace bullying. Additionally, under law, businesses must ensure that workers are not exposed to health and safety risks, which includes having systems in place to prevent and respond to workplace bullying.
Taking a Stand Against Bullying
On Day 1 of the Work 2.0 Expo and Conference Rae and Damian Panlock will be presenting ‘Removing Bullying from the Workplace’.
In this presentation, Rae and Damian will focus on their daughter, Brodie, and her personal story of relentless workplace bullying, which tragically ended her life. Brodie’s story focuses on the importance of mental health, the serious nature of workplace bullying and how important it is to create a positive culture within organisations. Rae and Damian Panlock will focus on the meaning of Brodie’s Law, and what it means for organisations and employees, with a focus on the importance of awareness, internal campaigns, training and good workplace policies and procedures to create safer, healthier workplaces for all.
Catch Rae and Damian Panlock’s moving presentation at 12:30pm on October 24, at the Work 2.0 Expo and Conference.
