Learning Seat was approached by the TAC (Transport Accident Commission) to create an interactive digital education course based on the ‘Safe System’ approach to road safety, which underpins Victoria’s Road Safety Strategy 2013–2022.
With the course being aimed at all road users, its visual and instructional design needed to appeal to learners across a range of demographics.
On top of this, the team needed to simplify complex road safety data and communicate it in a way that could be easily understood.
To make the course universally appealing and learner focused, our project team chose an approach that leveraged:
- Audio narration
- A central narrative
- Realistic scenarios
- Reflection activities
- Contextualised feedback.
By working closely with the TAC team, our team delivered a sophisticated yet uncluttered course that not only entertains learners but also aims to make Victoria’s roads safer. But why take our word for it? Check out the show reel below.
The TAC encourages organisations, community groups and individuals to undertake the module. Try it out now on the TAC website. The course can also be downloaded for deployment on your learning management system.

‘We are over the moon with the result. We were very well informed about each stage of the development process and course build. Our timeline was very tight and Learning Seat accommodated it with great professionalism and an excellent approach to working in partnership with us to ensure our objectives for this important project were fully delivered.
We see long-term value in developing this online learning course. It is an efficient and effective way to communicate consistent information to our staff and partners, who now will be well equipped to be road safety ambassadors.”
